Inspired by the agricultural architecture of the local Mani agricultural villages dispersed volumes intertwined with a contemporary connecting network of glass hallways sparks a conversation regarding the synthesis of old and new.
Cosy spaces and kitchens designed for traditional cooking are accommodated in rustic stone buildings hand chiseled from the stone green and grey stone extracted one site and sheltered under exposed timber roofs. Not to contrast but to complement, are connecting hallways and living spaces with an unobstructed view towards the Messenian gulf. Vernacular materials, traditional buildings methods, modern comforts and efficient energy production this project aims to explore the relationship between old and new.
