Inspired by the traditional architecture of the Mani area, this project explores the roots of Mani architecture and traditional building methods. Stone arches, wrought iron, exposed rock faces, weathered byzantine roof tiles, timber windows are only a fraction of the compositional elements of this residence set on a steep incline with a panoramic view of the Messinian gulf.
The natural stone pulled from the site with hues of green, red, brown and grey create a beautiful variation in the exposed stone surfaces complemented by cypress trees, rosemary bushes, grape vines and over 280 olive trees.
